Partial Hospitalization Programs

Beacon’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a less restrictive treatment option for adults and geriatrics with mild to moderate mental or emotional disorders that require comprehensive and intensive treatment.  Common disorders treated by our program include, but are not limited to:  depression, grief, anxiety, psychosis, paranoia, disorientation, confusion and bipolar disorder.

The PHP allows the patient a safe and structured treatment environment during the day, allowing them to return to their home in the afternoon. This level of care is appropriate for patients who do not present any danger to themselves or others, but are in need of a structured treatment plan.  This type of care may prevent the need for hospitalization for those in crisis.

The program may serve as a “step-down” from inpatient care back to the patient’s home and community environment, or may support the recovery process for patients who need more structure than outpatient treatment provides. For those patients who are resistant to treatment because their home environment does not support their recovery following discharge, the PHP offers a treatment alternative.
